INTERVIEW SKILLS AND COMMUNICATIONS TRAINING
'Interview Skills and Communications Training' has been introduced into the programs.
This important training will help students, not only overcome nerves in interviews but also assist you in using the right language towards clients, staff and businesses.
Here are some of the keys points that will be covered in your 'Interview Skills and Communications Training':
- How to prepare a resume
- Preparing for an interview (overcoming nerves)
- Presentation skills
- Preparing and researching prior to your interview
- Using the right language with different people (employers, clients, ATO representative etc)
- Drafting letters via e-mail or fax
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE We understand that different people are at varying levels in the accounting field. That is why our programs are suitable for accounting students who are in their 3rd year of university, studying in TAFE or just graduating. Accountants Resource Centre is also a benefit for accountants wanting to improve their tax skills or for people from overseas requiring to gain experience in an Australian accounting firm. MYOB Accountants Office and MYOB Premier are some of the software packages used in our training, remember that “87 of the Top 100 Accounting Firms are MYOB clients and that all of the Top 10 Fastest-Growing Firms are also MYOB clients”.
IN HOUSE INTERNSHIP/TRAINING OUTLINE (practical training through examples of real case studies - cover various types of industries and entities)
1.MYOB PREMIER Accounts Receivable: entering invoices, payments, entering credits/adjustments
Accounts Payable: entering purchases invoices, payments, over payments, underpayments, comparing statements from creditors
Payroll: entering employees, sick leave, annual leave, superannuation, pay slips, adjusting leave Reconciliations: bank and credit card accounts Reports: financial reports, management reporting for decision-making
2. MYOB ACCOUNTANTS OFFICE
Widely used software in local public practice for accounting firms. Preparing BAS & Tax returns for individuals, partnerships, companies & various trust with consideration of all sorts of common tax issues. Details refer to ARC info pack.
PROGRAM OPTIONS
Option 1: 4 Weeks Training Program
Duration: 4 Weeks Part Time
(Wednesday, Thursday & Friday) 9am - 5pm
Course content: Conventional topics listed in the In-House Training Program Outline. Option 2: Weekend Training Program Duration: 4 Weeks Part Time (2 days per week, Saturday & Sunday) 9.30 am - 3pm Course content: Conventional and advanced topics listed in the In-House Training Program Outline. Option 3: 3 Months Weekend Internship/Training Program Duration: 12 Weeks Part Time (2 days per week, Saturday & Sunday) 9.30am - 3pm Course contents: Conventional and advanced topics including additional practical experience. Includes '3 Week Training Program', 4 week intensive training and 8 weeks client case studies. Option 4: 3 Months Internship/Training Program (Full Time) Duration: 12 Weeks Full Time (Monday to Friday) 9am - 5pm Course contents: Conventional and advanced topics including additional practical experience. Includes '3 Week Training Program', 4 week intensive training and 8 weeks client case studies. Option 5: 3 Months Internship/Training Program (Part Time) Duration: 12 Weeks (3 weeks full time Monday to Friday + 3 days a week/8 weeks) 9am - 5pm Course contents: Conventional and advanced topics including additional practical experience. Includes '3 Week Training Program', 4 week intensive training and 8 weeks client case studies. Option 6: 3 Months Internship/Training Program (with employment) Duration: 12 Weeks (3 weeks full time Monday to Friday + 3 days a week/8 weeks) 9am - 5pm Course contents: Conventional and advanced topics including additional practical experience. Includes '3 Week Training Program', 4 week intensive training and 8 weeks client case studies with work experience. Option 7: 6 Months Internship/Training Program (Full Time) Duration: 24 Weeks Full Time (Monday to Friday) 9am to 5pm Course contents: Conventional and advanced topics including additional practical experience. Includes '3 Week Training Program', 4 week intensive training and 20 weeks client case studies (advance accounting skills training). Option 8: 6 Months Internship/Training Program (Part Time) Duration: 24 Weeks Part Time (3 weeks full time Monday to Friday + 3 days a week/20 weeks) 9am - 5pm Course contents: Conventional and advanced topics including additional practical experience. Includes '3 Week Training Program', 4 week intensive training and 20 weeks client case studies (advance accounting skills training). Option 9: MYOB Bookkeeping Training Program Duration: 3 Weeks Part Time (1 day a week/every Mondays) 9am - 5pm Course contents: All aspects of the MYOB Premier software. Option 10: Interview & Communication Skills Training Duration: 3 Weeks Part Time (1 day a week/every Mondays) 9am - 5pm Course contents: How to prepare and correspond in an accounting firm through emails, memo and fax whilst using the correct terms and language. Preparation of resume and how to present yourself in interviews. Students who complete our programs will be issued a ‘Certificate of Completion’. In addition to the program we have available. Students can take advantage of our service where they can participate in advanced training focusing in a particular area of accounting. This option is suitable for students who has completed our programs but would like to have that extra experience. You will have on-going assistance and advice from our senior accountants and will go through extensive training to help you achieve your goal.
