In order to be eligible to enroll in the SMIPA Professional Year in Accounting Program DIAC has stated that all participants must have the following:
- Completed a recognized Accounting course in Australia that provides 2 years credit points over a minimum of 18 months
- Hold, or have applied for the subclass 485 Temporary Residence Visa or Bridging Visa. The 485 visa must have been applied for within 6 months of graduation. - Have a minimum of IELTS score of 6.0 in all 4 competencies
- Have a valid skills assessment from the professional accounting body
